Our first blog kicks off… literally….
SuperBowl Sunday marked Quiznos on Spring Street Long Beach’s foray into the world of serious social media. So much to say, so many menu choices. Since our store’s owner is from Wisconsin it only made sense to launch out into the blog waters with a blurb about the now (thankfully) victorious Green Bay Packers.
Winning Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers (a California native, I might add) is the kind of role model our ailing country has been pining for: hardworking, humble, and very VERY patient. Few of us with that kind of talent would quietly sit on the sidelines and in the shadows as he did for so many years… potentially watching the best years of his career from the bench. But his patience paid off in spades and a ring on Feb 6, 2011 when he won a well-deserved championship for his team.
The household where I watched the game was all a-twitter, being packed with Cheeseheads from way back. Nerves were on edge and the munchies were in full force… that’s where Quiznos on Spring Street comes in!
We had about 30 or so guests and in these days of special requests when it comes to food we wanted to make sure that no one went hungry during the 3 hour plus game spectacular. I literally threw myself on the mercy of the Quiznos staff and just said ‘this is how many people we are having, just give me whatever you think we should have.’ The move played as well as one of Rodgers’ spot on passes.
The Quiznos crew sent us on our way with chili, chicken salad, subs & sammies galore, chips and a few desserts so delicious we nearly fought over them. Guests brought the beverages and a dip or two and our feast was complete.
Many thanks to Manny and Chris for making our party so easy and delicious. Can’t wait for the next excuse to have a game party catered by Quiznos… I wonder how the Lakers are doing this season….
